American Idol – Group 2

February 25, 2009 at 5:27 pm (TV)

This week I had 4 favorites.

My first favorite was Allison Iraheta. She sang “Alone” by Heart and she killed it! It was awesome. I have actually been to see Heart and she would have been proud I think! She is so young but so bold. She has the most amazing color of hair ever. It is like a maroon-pinkish color but it works for her.

The next one I liked was Kris Allen. He sang “Man in the Mirror” by Michael Jackson and he also did a really great song. Unlike the guy who sang the Michael Jackson song in the previous week, he nailed it and put his own twist on it. It was nice. I was tapping my toe and smiling the whole time he was singing. Plus, he was fun to look at.

Another of the four was Kai Kalama. He sang “What Becomes of the Broken Heart” and I really just liked his stage presence and his voice.

And finally, I really liked Adam Lambert. He was sassy with his version of “Satisfaction” by the Rolling Stones. He has this star quality about him. He seems really marketable. That is a good quality for this show. Also, I am so diggin’ his black hair. He is pretty hot, in a metro kind of way.

Overall, I think I still like Anoop and Danny. Now for the girls, I really like this Allison Iraheta. She is only 16. Rock it girl!

I love Egypt

February 25, 2009 at 12:56 pm (It's just my life)

Anyone who knows me will attest to the fact that I love Egypt, ancient Egypt actually.

i-love-egyptI have always felt I was an Egyptian in another life. I swear it must have been true! Anyway, I found the most perfect necklace today and it was an Egyptian symbol. It made me so happy.

I am still planning on getting a tattoo of a lotus for a couple of reasons… Someone has a name that meant that and I love the flower. Plus, they were hugely used in ancient Egyptian times. And I can’t forget all of the other eastern religions that harness the power of the lotus! I can’t wait! I have already picked a spot out on my body for it. Now, I just have to find the right place to do it…

That should be interesting.

Recap of this Weekend

February 25, 2009 at 10:58 am (It's just my life)

So I ended up heading to Kansas City. I was driving down I-35 a couple of times and I wanted so badly to take the exit and go and see Neeraj… I mean, my heart pounded everytime I drove by and I even went down Shawnee Mission Parkway because I missed the area and everything I used to do down that way. It was tough, really tough. I see now why I was avoiding Kansas City for such a long time. I knew I would want to be there…

I had a great time at the Kansas game though. It was really fun and I sat in the student section and rocked it. I took my newspaper and everything. I was ready! I lost my voice a little when I got back. I yelled the entire game. It was fun.

Mardi Gras downtown was also fun, cold, but fun. I had a good time. The music was interesting to listen to…

I might stay away for awhile… and I might not. I can’t decide.

Just felt like posting a picture I took in Kansas City… I felt creative at the time.

Thanks Google

February 25, 2009 at 8:23 am (Funny Random, It's just my life)

A. Go to Google
B. Type your name and “likes to” all in quotation marks. (e.g. “Fred likes to”)
C. Report back on the first ten things that come up for your name.

Chelsea likes to:

1. hump

2. be lazy and surround herself with pillows

3. nap

4. sew & draw

5. be in the swimming pool

6. teach

7. watch movies, listen to music, drink lots of coffee, and spend time with her friends and family

8. take full advantage of technology

9. throw balls at her co-workers

10. be cuddled to sleep

Man, some of those are funny, and some of those are super true!

Grey’s Anatomy

February 24, 2009 at 10:38 am (Funny Random)

I have always been a Grey’s Anatomy fan. I have seen every episode multiple times and I feel very confident that I am a wealth of knowledge when it comes to this show. Thus, I need to vent a little bit!

Over this season there have been some really great points and some really awful plots in my opinion.

First of all, THANK YOU Kevin McKid, also known as Major Owen Hunt! He brings so much to the show and I love how messed up he is. Finally, someone more screwed up than Meredith! Plus, he has this fierce and rugged look that just makes me want to know more about him – personally and physically. Man, he is a stud. Yeah, I said it. Plus, the chemistry Hunt has with Cristina is truly phenomenal.

Secondly, Izzie and George are leaving. I am tired of Izzie now, but she does have this amazing history with the show. George is simply losing air time and falling away so it won’t be so hard for him to leave. Supposedly they are letting him go so he has the option to join the show again.

Finally, will Derek just propose already?! Seriously, I cannot wait. It is supposed to be done in a very coveted elevator scene! That should be simply glorious. Everybody who knows the show will understand the magnitude of this particular elevator scene, if in fact they choose to do it that way…

I am just bummed that I have to wait three weeks for the next episode…

So, if something happens that I don’t end up going to Paris and Dublin and Adam and I brake up really soon I already know what I am going to do with the money I have saved.

It has been some time since I have spent money on myself so here are the three things I want (in no particular order).

I want a Nintendo Wii.

I want one of those super small laptops, like 10″ or something.

I want a Digital Piano Keyboard.

Granted, Blake Griffin was out… but we still won! Plus, we hold the number one spot in the Big 12 now!

Also, Sherron Collins rocked tonight! I was a little worried that first half, but Taylor made up for it. He had a wonderful game. Man, Cole Aldrich also had a great game! Gees, that just makes me happy!

Kansas Theme

February 20, 2009 at 3:17 am (Uncategorized)

I am getting so excited to be going to Kansas City. I seriously cannot wait!

Saturday I am heading up to go to the Nebraska vs. KU game at 3:00. I am going to try to get into the student section! That is going to freaking rock! After that I am going to head back to Kansas City and check into my hotel. It is a pretty nice one that is located inside the Power and Light District. I don’t usually drink, but this is Mardi Gras and I feel it will be okay this weekend! So, I am going to party it up and I cannot wait!

There are so many places to go, but I think I really want to see what HOWL AT THE MOON is like. I know it is a dueling piano bar, but I really like those. RAGLAN ROAD, THE INDIE ON MAIN, & a few others are also on the list to check out. I have been down there before for the Coldplay and Tom Petty concerts and I loved it. I went bowling at the Lucky Strike Lanes, which isn’t anything like the lanes back home… and I saw a bunch of great places to eat. So, I think I am set.

Ready, Set, Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

American Idol Picks

February 19, 2009 at 5:15 am (Uncategorized)

I thought I would write about something really deep and important today, but instead, I decided to just back off for a while.

So, I am going to write about American Idol. Again, this year I have started watching shows that i normally never watched before. This is the very first year for me to watch American Idol. Anyway, I have to admit, at times I am quite bored, but I guess listening to them sing now makes up a little bit for before.

So, they picked the first three… I am happy and a little disappointed… I really LIKE Danny Gokey. He is my favorite. And, I think that they only reason that they didn’t pick Jamal was that he would have been too much competition for his friend when he has a real chance at winning! I also liked Alexis Grace. I like the pink flare she has going and I like that she is a mother. Plus, she has some soul going on with her. Now, as for Michael Sarva, I didn’t really like that choice at all. I REALLY liked Anoop Desai. He was so surprising. I liked his sound! He does things that aren’t predictable. Plus, he has a GREAT voice! I hope that he is one of the final 12. I really do.

Danny Gokey

Anoop Desai
